If you're the type of person who relies on mysterious-sounding locations of stars to determine your personality and outcome in life, get ready to be shocked.
The field of astrology, which is concerned with horoscopes and the like, felt a major disruption from astronomers, who are concerned with actual stars and planets. The astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that because of the moon's gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars was pushed by about a month.
"When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," noted Parke Kunkle, a member of the group's board. Your astrological sign is determined by the position of the sun on the day you were born, so that means everything you thought you knew about your horoscope is wrong.
It turns out that astrology has had issues from its inception. (Aside from the fact that it tries to link personality traits with positions of the stars.) Ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations, but wanted only 12, so threw out Ophuchicus, the snake holder. Libra didn't even enter the picture until the era of Julius Caesar.
According to the Minnesota Planetarium Society, here is where the real signs of the Zodiac should fall. Get ready for your world to change forever.
Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Fazolis: Italian Food Express Please

This is one cuisine I enjoy eating anytime of the day... Italian. I love Italian food. Pasta, pizza... You name it, I love it. About a year ago, my hubby introduced me to an Italian cuisine "fast food type"(although freshly prepared). It is none other than Fazolis. Located at the City Walk in Eastwood, It is always jampacked during lunch and dinner. We have eaten here so much times already, and the food never fails to amaze me. Of course compared to high-end Italian restaurants, this may be nothing. But I could safely say that in my opinion, I enjoy their food MUCH more than Sbarro.

I always order the Peppery Chicken Alfredo. There are times that the sauce would taste differently, although it never fails to make me full. Unlimited drinks and breadsticks? This is the place Their breadsticks are a must try to all!!! You will definitely go back and ask for more.

Fazolis is also reasonably priced. They offer a wide range of pizza, pasta, rice dishes, and even desserts. If you have the time, do try one of the best Italian "fast food type" joints in Manila. Something different and something new :) You will certainly feel relaxed with its homey ambiance and delicious food. Worth every value of your money. Very reasonable :) Enjoy! :)

Food That Can Help You Sleep

Read this from Yahoo! earlier, and I think it is very helpful :)

ALL CONTENTS BELOW WERE TAKEN FROM http://shine.yahoo.com/event/vitality/10-foods-that-can-help-you-sleep-2433545/

Almonds
“Almonds are a winner,” says Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, medical director of the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers, and author of the bestselling book From Fatigued to Fantastic! “They contain magnesium which promotes both sleep and muscle relaxation,” he says. “And they have the added benefit of supplying proteins that can help maintain a stable blood sugar level while sleeping, and help promote sleep by switching you from your alert adrenaline cycle to your rest-and-digest cycle.” Try this bedtime snack: Have a tablespoon of almond butter or a 1-ounce portion of almonds to help your body relax. Photo: Shutterstock

Tea
Yes, avoiding all caffeine in the evening hours is key, but some decaf varieties can help get you into sleep mode, says Dr. Teitelbaum. “Chamomile tea is a very helpful and safe sleep aid,” he says, adding that green tea is another good choice. “Green tea contains theanine, which helps promote sleep. Just be sure you get a decaf green tea if drinking it at bedtime.” Experts recommend trying a 1-cup serving of the hot stuff. Photo: Thinkstock

Miso Soup
You love to order this comforting, broth-based soup in Japanese restaurants, but keeping a few 8-ounce packs of instant miso soup at home may be key when you’re having trouble falling asleep, says Stella Metsovas, CN, a nutritionist in Laguna Beach, California. Here’s why: Miso contains amino acids that may boost the production of melatonin, a natural hormone that can help induce the yawns. Bonus: Research shows that warm liquids like soup and tea may also relieve cold symptoms, helping you sleep better when you're feeling under the weather. Photo: Shutterstock

Banana
Worried about falling asleep tonight? Have a banana before bed, says Saundra Dalton-Smith, MD, an internist and the author of Set Free to Live Free: Breaking Through the 7 Lies Women Tell Themselves. “Bananas are an excellent source of magnesium and potassium, which help to relax overstressed muscles. They also contain tryptophan, which convert to serotonin and melatonin, the brain’s key calming hormones." Try this tasty and incredibly simple bedtime smoothie: Blend one banana with one cup of milk or soy milk (and ice, if desired). Pour and enjoy!Photo: Shutterstock

Dairy
Yogurt, milk and cheese do contain tryptophan, notes Dr. Dalton-Smith, but also have a surprising sleep-inducing nutrient: “Calcium is effective in stress reduction and stabilization of nerve fibers, including those in the brain." That means a serving of your favorite Greek yogurt before bed can not only help you sleep, but also help you stop worrying about the weird thing your boss said earlier at work. Photo: Thinkstock

Oatmeal
You eat it for breakfast, but could a bowl of warm oatmeal help you get more rest? Yes, says Stephan Dorlandt, a clinical nutritionist based in Southern California. “Think about it,” he says. “Oatmeal is warm, soft, soothing, easy to prepare, inexpensive and nourishing. It’s rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon and potassium—the who's who of nutrients known to support sleep.” But go easy on the sweeteners; too much sugar before bed can have an anti-calming effect. Instead, consider topping your bowl with fruit, like bananas (see above). Photo: Shutterstock

Hard-Cooked Egg
If you have trouble staying asleep at night, it may be because you didn’t eat a pre-bedtime snack high in protein, or perhaps your snack was too high in simple, high-sugar carbohydrates, like cake and candy. “The problem with simple carbs is that they can put you on a ‘sugar roller coaster’ and drop your blood sugar while you're sleeping, causing you to wake at 2 or 3 in the morning,” says Dr. Teitelbaum. A better bet? “Eat an egg, cheese, nuts or other protein-rich snack instead,” he says, “so you can not only fall asleep, but stay asleep.” Photo: Shutterstock

Edamame
Craving a salty snack before bed? Turn to lightly salted edamame, says Dr. Dalton-Smith—especially if you’re dealing with menopause-related symptoms. “The natural estrogen-like compounds found in soy-based products can be very beneficial in controlling those nighttime hot flashes that can disturb your sleep,” she says. If it’s crackers and dip you’re craving, try making this easy edamame recipe: In a food processor, blend together 2 cups of shelled, cooked edamame with 1 tsp salt, a drizzle of olive oil and 1 clove garlic (optional) until smooth. Photo: Thinkstock

Cherries
Oddly, a glass of cherry juice may be an effective way to fall asleep faster, says a team of researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and University of Rochester. In their study, they found that cherries, particularly tart cherries, naturally boosted the body’s supply of melatonin, which helped people with insomnia. While the jury is still out on how much juice or how many cherries are needed to make you sleepy, experts say sipping a glass of cherry juice (available at most natural foods stores) or having a serving of fresh, frozen or dried cherries before bedtime couldn’t hurt. Photo: Thinkstock

Cereal
There’s no need to feel guilty about having a small bowl of cereal before bed, especially if it’s a low-sugar, whole-grain cereal. Not only is it a healthy snack (make sure you top it with milk to give your body the protein it needs), but it may also help you snooze. “Complex carbohydrate–rich foods increase the availability of tryptophan in the bloodstream, increasing the sleep-inducing effects,” says Dr. Dalton-Smith. Bonus: Top your bowl with a sprinkling of dried cherries (see above) for extra help catching your zzz's. Photo: Thinkstock

Crustacia

Since I am not an avid fan of Chinese food, I am not so fond of seafood as well. I am allergic to crabs and baby shrimps ( boiled specifically). Nonetheless, out of curiosity, as my hubby and I were walking around Town Center, we passed by Crustacia. I guess I decided to try it because of the fact that it was a buffet.

For only Php 350 net, Crustacea offers a wide variety of seafood and other savory meals. I specifically enjoyed the crab and corn soup. I could taste the corn very much which contained a few strips of crab sticks. There was also Yang Chow rice, crab bihon, steamed crabs, vegetables, beef caldereta, beef curry, sushi bar, phad thai, wantons, spareribs, and dessert station. I didn't quite enjoy the food, especially the dessert as most were tasteless and seemed to have been old stocks (not fresh ingredients). I did enjoy the wanton, rice and bihon. I guess it wasn't tasty to me since I really don't eat seafood much. If you are a fan though, you can probably prove me wrong :)

Ambiance was quite comfortable though. We sat al fresco to enjoy the cool breeze in the air. And the place is clean. No need to worry. It is located write beside the Ayala Lounge as well.

Causeway Chinese Restaurant

One fact you must know about me: Although I am Chinese, it is my most least favorite cuisine. I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy other international cuisines. Nonetheless, I am blogging about my fair experience in Causeway restaurant in Libis.

Since my hubby enjoys eating Chinese food, I decided to give in to his request. My hubby has been eating in Causeway for quite sometime already with his friends. Here we go...

As most Chinese restaurants are fully packed, this restaurant wasn't any different. We arrived at around 12 and was given a table at around 12:15. Not bad though. They quickly cleaned the and prepared our table (we sat near the counter). Dimsum carts were being pushed back and forth, my hubby started off with his all time favorite... Spareribs. As for me, I requested for hakaw (shrimp in white dumpling wrapper). Unfortunately, they ran out. I was left to order the shark's fin siomai. Like other Chinese restaurants, it didn't taste any different. I enjoyed their Yan Chow fried rice though, which was very tasty. It had that "Chinese sense" taste that made me remember a time when I ate rice in Hong Kong. My hubby also had what is locally in China knows as "Kyam-pung" or sticky rice in banana leaves. This I personally don't really enjoy. Although it's my job to try, I did. It didn't taste as bad as how I know kyam-pung tastes like. It had that savory taste filled with mushroom and vegetables. A must try.

Service was sort of okay. Our waiter though wouldn't pay much attention cause he was attending to other customers as well. The bathroom was not so clean though (not a surprise), although bearable.

My overall experience in Causeway was quiet enjoyable. Not the best I had, but it is reasonably priced.

Alabang Country Club

For the many years I have spent my time in the country club, I have experienced it's food caterers shifting from Carte Blanche, Skyline, Food Express, and many more. Now, the food rendered by the club is handled by Chef Hilton, a famous chef who was once an instructor in CCA, Manila.

My hubby and I grew up eating the food at the club. And for the many years we have been, I could say that the food they have to offer now are at its best.

Kropek

Hubby's hungry :)

Lumpiang Shanghai

Mushroom Al A Jillo

Pancit Canton
We started our meal with a simply shrimp kropek (childhood chips). Cooked to perfection: crispy and tasty. We  also ordered lumpiang shanghai, mushroom al a jillo, and pancit canton. You could say we craved for the exciting Filipino cuisine. Upon tasting the first dish (mushrooms), it was cooked perfectly. Salty as it should be, I also tend to add pepper to spice it up (yes, I love spice). My hubby enjoyed the lumpiang shanghai, as it is one of his all-time favorite food. The lumpia had a generous amount of meat inside it, and was quite tasty as well. Last but not the least was the pancit canton. I am an avid noodle lover. This, I could say, is one of the best pancit canton I have tried. Pancit canton is common in the Philippines. However, you seldom find pancit canton that gives this specific taste that I cannot really explain.

Service is okay. Although I'd say they need more waiters cause lots of people were eating then, and there were only 3 waiters ready for service. Clean? Very. You're sure to have a safe and enjoyable meal.

If you know anyone who is a member, do find the time to ask them to sponsor you for you to try one of the best local dishes around Alabang.
