Causeway Chinese Restaurant

One fact you must know about me: Although I am Chinese, it is my most least favorite cuisine. I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy other international cuisines. Nonetheless, I am blogging about my fair experience in Causeway restaurant in Libis.

Since my hubby enjoys eating Chinese food, I decided to give in to his request. My hubby has been eating in Causeway for quite sometime already with his friends. Here we go...

As most Chinese restaurants are fully packed, this restaurant wasn't any different. We arrived at around 12 and was given a table at around 12:15. Not bad though. They quickly cleaned the and prepared our table (we sat near the counter). Dimsum carts were being pushed back and forth, my hubby started off with his all time favorite... Spareribs. As for me, I requested for hakaw (shrimp in white dumpling wrapper). Unfortunately, they ran out. I was left to order the shark's fin siomai. Like other Chinese restaurants, it didn't taste any different. I enjoyed their Yan Chow fried rice though, which was very tasty. It had that "Chinese sense" taste that made me remember a time when I ate rice in Hong Kong. My hubby also had what is locally in China knows as "Kyam-pung" or sticky rice in banana leaves. This I personally don't really enjoy. Although it's my job to try, I did. It didn't taste as bad as how I know kyam-pung tastes like. It had that savory taste filled with mushroom and vegetables. A must try.

Service was sort of okay. Our waiter though wouldn't pay much attention cause he was attending to other customers as well. The bathroom was not so clean though (not a surprise), although bearable.

My overall experience in Causeway was quiet enjoyable. Not the best I had, but it is reasonably priced.
