Omakase: "It's Up to You"

Now a days, we come across so many Japanese restaurants all over. Few have remained since from the very past, but as time approaches, more and more Japanese restaurants, be it fusion or authentic, comes to a quick rise to the Filipino market. Japanese cuisine, based from observations and stories, is one of the most favorite cuisines of us Filipinos. Next to Filipino food, Japanese cuisine is the favorite.

Omakase, Casa Susana Building, Alabang
Being an avid fan myself of the cuisine, I specifically enjoy the food Omakase caters to the public. Omakase has been in Alabang since 2005. For the past 5 years, I have seen big changes, not only in the place they have established, but most especially in the food they offer. Compared to other Japanese restaurants, I can say that Omakase is very affordable. They are very generous as well with the amount of food they give for the price you pay. Delicious? Yes.

Spicy Tuna Salad
My personal favorite in Omakase is the spicy tuna salad. It's a simple appetizer, yet very delicious. It has tuna sashimi cut into chunks, prepared spicy mayo dressing, and served with tempura flakes. The crunchness of the tempura flakes adds flavor that helps in lessening the spiciness of the dish.

For the main course, my favorite is the torikatsu (breaded chicken cutlet). Similar to tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), the torikatsu is more juicy and has more flavor. Although I wasn't able to order it during my last visit, I still highly recommend you try and of among the 2. Omakase tempura is also delicious. It's not like the usual tempura you'd order that's only full of flour. Omakase tempura is flavorful and is generous in the serving portion.

Oyster Butteryaki
One of their signature dishes, as I could say, is the oyster butteryaki. It is paired with ehir prepared special sauce, and goes very well together. The sauce helps in lessening the taste of fishiness of the oyster. Although the dish doesn't really have a unique taste, pairing the oyster with the sauce changes everything.

Salmon Skin Roll
Spicy Tuna and Salmon
Omakase, as I know, is known and popular for their sushi. They offer a wide range of sushi, created in original recipes. Fusionistic? Quite. But exquisite and delicious. It really goes well together.

Given the chance, do try Omakase Japanese Restaurant. You will surely enjoy the wide range of food variety they offer the public.
